How to raise a fire alarm.
1. If you see a fire, raise the alarm immediately via the nearest Manual Call Point (MCP).
2. Touch MCP alarms only in case of fire. In any other case you must never press it.
3. Know where your nearest MCP positions and nearest fire exits are.
4. Take care with equipment - be aware of your surroundings.

Avoiding false fire alarms.

No vaping or smoking in the FC
No vaping image
Do not vape/smoke: smoke from vaping/smoking can set off smoke detectors.
Only smoke in designated/permitted areas of your building.
Smoke detectors are in every room of the building, including toilet blocks, and are very sensitive.
No Aerosol sprays in the FC
No aerosol spray image
Don’t use aerosol sprays such as deodorant and hairspray anywhere indoors, especially within confined spaces and office areas. This can result in smoke detectors being triggered.
No metal in microwaves
No vaping image
Don't put metal items in the microwave; this includes items such as spoons, forks, metal containers and tin foil. Metal can cause a microwave to overheat and burn, which can trigger the fire alarm.
