All PIT equipment cannot be controlled without proper training and without a valid badge. Additionally, you should put on certain personal protective equipment – safety shoes and vest.

People who work in areas where PIT operates are trained to keep safe distances from PIT. When near PITs with forks lowered people must keep a 2 meters safe distance from PIT at all times.

When PIT drivers have forks raised the minimum safe distance increases to 6 meters/20ft.

Remember to keep 2m safe distance when PIT forks are down and 6m safe distance when forks are raised.

PIT drivers and pedestrians must make eye contact and signal for recognition when approaching each other.
